Parking hangtags on the way
In Main Campus News on May 30, 2007
Parking hangtags for the WSU Assigned Parking Program are due to expire Thursday, May 31.  However, due to a delay in printing, new tags will not be available for distribution before then. In the meantime, all members of the program will continue to have access to assigned parking and will not be ticketed or towed for having an expired hangtag. Please note that program participants should receive new hangtag in the mail within the next two weeks.  Nine-month employees will receive their hangtags in the mail in August, unless summer parking was paid in advance. For questions or concerns, please contact (313) 577-3704.

Grants available for NOW conference
In Main Campus News on April 26, 2007

The President's Commission on the Status of Women is pleased to announce that it has awarded a grant to the Wayne State University Women's Studies program that will send 10 interested students to this summer's conference of the National Organization for Women. The conference is being held in Dearborn, from July 13-15, and is the venue of important feminist activism, lobbying and networking.

Students who would like to apply for one of the 10 scholarships available should contact the Dr. Frances J. Ranney, director of Women's Studies, at ae8683@wayne.edu on or before May 18 to receive a short electronic application form. Applications must include a short persuasive statement linking attendance at the NOW conference to important academic goals, as well as to political, personal or career goals. All applications must be submitted to Dr. Ranney by e-mail, and must arrive by noon on Friday, June 1.

Scholarship recipients will be required to attend a half-day workshop on the Wayne State campus the week of July 9 to learn about NOW and the issues up for discussion this year; they will also attend a half-day post-conference workshop the week of July 16 to report on their experiences.
