Research Strategic Plan presentation set for Feb. 15
Bonita Stanton, M.D.
Wayne State University School of Medicine faculty will have the opportunity to explore and offer input in a new School of Medicine Research Strategic Plan.
The plan will be presented Feb. 15 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Green Lecture Hall in Scott Hall.
Bonita Stanton, M.D., vice dean for Research for the School of Medicine, said the plan will be presented in the first 45 minutes. After that, input will be solicited from the faculty and administrators in attendance at the meeting.
“My first six months as vice dean for Research at the School of Medicine has been invigorating and exciting,” Dr. Stanton said. “It has been a joy working with the large number of faculty and administrators from the School of Medicine and across the campus to develop a progressive, exciting, realistic and collaborative research strategic plan.”
Dr. Stanton said that approximately 140 faculty members “generously donated their time over the last several months” to participate in one or more of the six working groups to develop the plan.
“The School of Medicine Research Strategic Plan will be very important in directing our research endeavors over the next five years; thus, we wish to have all faculty in the discussion at the beginning,” Dr. Stanton said.
Dean Valerie M. Parisi, M.D., M.P.H., M.B.A.; university Provost Ronald T. Brown; and WSU Vice President of Research Hilary Ratner will attend the meeting, which is open to all School of Medicine faculty.
