Dr. Wahl elected director of American Board of Emergency Medicine

Robert Wahl, M.D., assistant professor of Emergency Medicine for the Wayne State University School of Medicine, has been elected a director of the American Board of Emergency Medicine.
Dr. Wahl, who also serves as residency director for the Department of Emergency Medicine, is on staff at Detroit Receiving Hospital. He has served the ABEM as an examiner for oral certification exams since 2007. He has been a member of the Enhanced MCQ Advisory Panel since 2011.
"I am honored and privileged to be elected as a director to the American Board of Emergency Medicine,” Dr. Wahl said. “I am eager to serve ABEM, work with current staff and directors, and contribute to the issues and responsibilities that ABEM has with its constituent members, groups and organizations."
A 1984 graduate of the WSU School of Medicine, Dr. Wahl was elected from a slate of nominees submitted by the American Medical Association.
The ABEM Board of Directors consists of board-certified emergency physicians. The board develops and administers the Emergency Medicine certification examination for doctors who have met credentialing requirements.
