Alumnotes - Nicholas Simpson, Ph.D., '97

Nicholas E. Simpson, Ph.D., '97, received a Research Award of Excellence from the University of Florida Department of Medicine. He earned his bachelor's degree in cell and molecular biology at the University of Michigan before earning his doctorate in cancer biology at Wayne State University School of Medicine.

Dr. Simpson trained as a fellow at Emory University in Atlanta before joining the faculty at the University of Florida in Gainesville in 2002. Currently, he directs research in the endocrinology division's laboratory for tissue engineering and is a principal or co-investigator on several grants
